SEASONAL FARM HAND

FULL-TIME, March – June 2024 | $16.28 per hour, 40% Store Discount

We're looking for a SEASONAL Farm Hand to assist in growing and caring for living plants in our flower greenhouse. If you love to watch things grow, enjoy hauling around heavy stuff and are a kind, enthusiastic, and dependable individual than this job is for you. Previous greenhouse experience is a bonus, and a cheerful disposition is needed. This job includes varied tasks and is physically heavy work.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • General plant care including watering.

  • Identifying insects & disease.

  • Stocking plants in retail store & assisting customers if needed.

  • Loading & unloading racks.

  • Cleaning, sanitizing, & organizing equipment & materials.

Qualifications:

  • This position is physically demanding and requires the applicant to be able to lift to 50 pounds on a regular basis, as well as function in physical positions such as lifting over head repeatedly, stooping, bending, turning, twisting, walking, reaching and squatting.

  • Ability to work in environmental conditions of cold, hot, wet and humid.

  • We expect you to enjoy working both on a team and individually.

  • Must be flexible and able to take direction well.

  • Must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation as we live in a rural area without public transportation.

  • We value the ability to focus on quality and pay attention to detail while working with speed.

FLORAL DESIGNER

Full-Time or Part-Time | $18-$20 per hour

We're looking for a team member with a positive attitude, who's comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can design at an intermediate to high level. Departments include fresh flowers, special event floral design (weddings, funeral) and containers.

Duties include floral design, assisting with container design as it pertains to the floral shop, processing flowers, cashiering, answering phones, and ensuring a clean workspace in store front and back receiving area. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean record as this role drives delivery when needed. Weekend availability is required for this role. Weddings and other special events can be any day of the week.

Floral Dept Manager

Full-Time $23 - $25 per hour

 We are looking for a hardworking, kind, and flower-crazed Floral Manager to run the Windmill Floral Studio. Please note, our Floral Manager works Tuesday - Saturday and is off on Sunday & Monday.

Floral Manager responsibilities include supervising day to day operations of floral studio. This includes hiring, training, scheduling, and managing staff. Ordering flowers weekly. Booking special events and ensuring that they run smoothly. The Floral Manager will focus on adhering to department budgets and increasing the total revenue of the floral department.

Our ideal candidate will be able to floral design at a high level, have some management experience, enjoy assisting customers, and possess an ambitious business mindset. The Floral Manager should also be skilled at organizing and solving problems. Interpersonal and mediation skills will also be very useful, since they’ll often be acting as a liaison between managers, employees, and customers.
